I used to be a software engineer—years of writing code, debugging systems, and optimizing processes. These days I tinker. I build things, take them apart, and build them again. But one constant through all of it: I love brewing a perfect cup of coffee.

Pour-over became my ritual—a meditative break from screens where precision still matters, but in an entirely different way. Over time, I obsessed over the details: water temperature, grind size, pour rate, bloom time. I read everything I could, experimented endlessly, and slowly dialed in my technique.

When my dad visited, I made him a pour-over. He said it was the best coffee he'd ever had. That got me thinking.

Great coffee isn't about expensive gear—it's about consistency. The problem is, most people don't have time to master pour-over technique. They buy good beans, then under-extract them into something forgettable.
